The Andrew Collection

Frame
The wooden frame on the Andrew Collection is composed of beech wood and ash. These woods are selected at source and seasoned for a minimum of 2 years to ensure long term durability. All corners and load bearing areas of the frame are additionally secured with heavy duty corner blocks to add to the strength and durability of the frame. Quality construction begins at the heart of the Andrew Collection.
Suspension Unit
Heavy duty nine gauge sinuous spring steel is incorporated in the Andrew Collection suspension unit. Fastened to the frame with heavy duty clips, the "S" shaped springs run from the front to the back two inches apart. Two firm rods are used to hold the springs in place and offer additional durability to the sitting area, both on the front and back of each individual seat. Five steel springs per seat are used to ensure the strength, comfort, and durability of the foam cushion core. A canvas barrier is attached between the foam and the steel springs to prevent wear on the foam cushion core. Heavy duty European elastic webbing is used to support the back cushions. This material will hold 720 pounds of pressure per square inch. Two wooden stretchers run front to back to stabilize and strengthen the frame against the tension of the steel sinuous springs. This adds to the strength of the frame itself.
Leather
The Leather in the Andrew Collection is semi aniline. This means that the leather is colored "thru and thru" and possesses a light protective coat of polyurethane on the surface of the leather. This gives the consumer versatility in wear and use; most common household stains can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap if addressed within minutes of the spill, spot, or stain. The color moves throughout this leather in a most attractive manner. You will see dark tones and light tones all over the furniture. These are characteristics of high quality leather. This effect is called "sauvage".
Cushions and Seating
The seat cushions are composed of polyurethane foam cores with a high quality Dacron topper on the surface for comfort. The density of these cushions will vary from 2.0 to 2.3. This is a unit of measurement of the number of porous holes in the cushion. The standard quality in our industry would be 1.8. The back cushions are composed of Dacron fiber which is blown in to vertically and horizontally channeled bags. This ensures that the proper amount of Dacron is blown in the same every time. The welted seat and back cushions give the collection clean and precise lines.
Cushions and Seating
The seating components of the Andrew Collection are composed of DOWN, not Dacron or foam. We wanted to offer a collection with a different story and comfort level. You will find that the comfort and softness of this collection will be like none other. The cushions: both seat and back are welted beautifully and have a very clean and artistic look and feel.
